Chuckberry J. Pascual is a fictionist, literary critic, and translator.

Pascual’s short story collections have been recognized with numerous awards: Ang Nawawala won the Best Book of Short Fiction in Filipino in the 2018 National Book Awards 2018, while Kumpisal: Mga Kuwento was a finalist in the 2016 National Book Awards, Gintong Aklat Awards of the Book Development Association of the Philippines, and the Madrigal-Gonzales Best First Book Award of the Likhaan: University of the Philippines (UP) Institute of Creative Writing. He also authored the young adult novel Mars, May Zombie! As well as several books on ethnography, literary criticism, and literary history.

He finished his Bachelor of Arts in Malikhaing Pagsulat, Master of Arts in Philippine Studies, and Doctor of Philosophy in Filipino degrees at UP Diliman.

He currently teaches literature and creative writing courses at the University of Santo Tomas (UST); he is also a resident fellow of the UST Center for Creative Writing and Literary Studies, and faculty researcher of the UST Research Center for Culture, Arts and Humanities.
