Rommel A. Pamaos is a teacher-writer delving into different genres of writing such as creative nonfiction, fiction, and children stories.

Pamaos was born in Parañaque City and grew up to take Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in English at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP). He is currently teaching at the Governor Ferrer Integrated Memorial National High School in General Trias City, Cavite.

While teaching, Pamaos attended the following literary programs: Sertipiko sa Panitikan at Malikhaing Pagsulat sa Filipino at PUP; the first Cavite Young Writers Workshop in 2018; the 61st University of the Philippines National Writers Workshop in 2022; and the 22nd Iyas La Salle National Writers’ Workshop in 2023. He is also affiliated with LAPIS ArtCom and the Cavite Young Writers Association.

His writing style is widely influenced by the works of Jun Cruz Reyes, Rene Villanueva, Bob Ong, and Norman Wilwayco which translates into the different genres he practices. His notable works include the children’s stories Kaya na Mag-isa ni Precious, Ang Payong na Takot sa Ulan, and Ang Ruler na Mahilig Manukat, as well as his short story collection Hindi Tagarito.

His works been awarded by different institutions and competitions such as the Saranggola Blog Awards for Maikling Kwento, second place in 2018 and third place in 2022; an honorable mention in the Philippine Board on Books for Young People’s Salanga Prize in 2023; the National Commission for Culture and the Arts’ National Heritage Month Spoken Poetry Contest in 2022, where he emerged as champion; and the grand prize in the 8th Lampara Children’s Story Writing Contest in 2018.
