Bago naging manunulat, guro at inclusive education advocate si Alvin Larida na nakatira malapit sa talipapa sa kanilang purok sa Surallah, South Cotabato. Ang iilan niyang mga akda ay kinilala ng Don Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards for Literature, Dungug Kinaray-a, Peter’s Prize, Leoncio Deriada Prize for Poetry and Short Fiction, at Bantugan sa Panulatan sa Kinaray-a. Nakapaglimbag rin siya sa MindanaoNewVoices, Cotabato Literary Journal, Dagmay, Sun Star Davao, at iba pang literary journal sa bansa. Napabilang rin ang iilan niyang mga koleksiyon sa 17 Halin sa Iraya, Vulnerables, at Batinggilan ng Kasingkasing Press. Nagsusulat si Larida sa wikang Hiligaynon, Kinaray-a, at Filipino. Sa kasalukuyan siya ang tagapangulo ng The The Socsksargen Writers Collective (TSWC).
