Adrian Medina Pregonir is a writer in Hiligaynon and Kinaray-a who grew up in the cornfields of a small town, Banga, South Cotabato, in Southern Mindanao. He is one of the activist-writers behind the resurgence of Hiligaynon and Kinaray-a Literature in Region XII, Mindanao. His poetry and essays have been recognized by Gawad Bienvenido Lumbera, the Don Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards, Gawad Rene O. Villanueva, Padya Dungug Kinaray-a, and Bantugan sa Panulatan Kinaray-a. He was conferred as the Makata ng Taon 2024 in the Talaang Ginto by the Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino for his poetry collection “Sa Muhon ng Iyong Kabaong Maibabaon ang mga Guho ng Kahapon.” His works have appeared in literary journals such as Kabisdak, Luna: A Journal of New Filipino Writing, CCP Ani, Likhaan: The Journal of Contemporary Philippine Literature, Liwayway Magazine, and others. He is alos the Guest Editor for Poetry in Hiligaynon of TLDTD, a biannual Philippine Literary Journal of Contemporary Poetry. Currently, he is a teacher, a freelance voice-over artist, and he gives lectures and talks about the advocacy of writing in the local tongue.
