Alfonso Manalastas

Alfonso Manalastas (1992) is a poet from Butuan City, now based in Metro Manila. He won the grand prize for the English category of the Maningning Miclat Poetry Awards in 2021 and the second prize for the Poetry category of the Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards for Literature in 2025. His poems have appeared in LIKHAAN: The Journal of Contemporary Philippine Literature, Kritika Kultura, Quarterly Literary Review Singapore, Cha: An Asian Literary Journal, Cordite Poetry Review, and 聲韻詩刊 Voice & Verse Poetry Magazine, among others, and have been included as text installations in various art exhibits at the Drawing Room Manila, Kaida Contemporary Gallery, and Finale Art File. He is the author of the poetry collection, Factory of Alleged Virtues (2025), published by the Ateneo de Manila University Press.
