Anna Felicia C. Sanchez

Anna Felicia C. Sanchez is a fictionist, nonfictionist, and a professor of creative writing under the Department of English and Comparative Literature (DECL) of the University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman. She is the author of Frog Leap and Other Stories (2005), a chapbook published under the first National Commission on Culture and the Arts’ Ubod New Authors Series. She has also authored the fiction collections How to Pacify a Distraught Infant (2017) and Pics or It Didn’t Happen (2020).

As Anna Ishikawa, Sanchez wrote the novellas Odd Girl Out (2006), Glamour Games (2007), and Where Your Dream Comes True (2008).

A number of her stories have won prizes in the Amelia Lapeña-Bonifacio Literary Contest, Philippines Free Press Literary Awards, Supernatural Story Writing Contest, and the Don Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards for Literature.

Born in August 1981, Sanchez finished her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in the DECL in UP Diliman, where she teaches literature and creative writing. She is also a fellow of the Likhaan: UP Institute of Creative Writing.
