Ino Habana is a writer, academic and cultural worker. His short stories have appeared in various publications, and have recently been collected in “The Summer of Growing Up: Stories of Childhood,” a special issue of Likhaan: The Journal of Contemporary Philippine Literature. His writing for children has received recognition from the PBBY-Salanga Prize and the Scholastic Asian Book Awards. He is one of the co-founders of Pawikaan: Palawan Writers Circle, a community-based literary organization in Palawan, which mounts the annual Palawan Writers Workshop. Ino graduated from the Ateneo de Manila University and completed his MA in Creative Writing at the University of the Philippines, Diliman, where he is now a lecturer. He divides his time between Manila and Palawan.
