Leonard Francis M. Alcoran

Leonard Francis Alcoran is a graduate of Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at West Visayas State University. He first took writing seriously through the Literary and Literacy Extension Program of the Division of the Humanities, University of the Philippines – Visayas through Dr. Leoncio P. Deriada during his undergraduate where he won first prize for his poem “Ang Paghiwit”. He was also a fellow of the 15th San Agustin Writers Workshop last where he won 2nd Place in the Kinaray-a Poetry Contest and 3rd prize in the English Poetry Writing Contest. He won 3rd Prize in the Hiligaynon Short Story Category of the 67th Don Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards that same year for “Ang Itlog nga wala Nagabalibad”. He was recently published in Verse and Voice Poetry Magazine for his poems “Milky Way” and “A Paean to Weightlessness”

He resides at Brgy. Masayo, Tobias Fornier and currently works as a public servant in the Provincial Government of Antique.
