Nikki Mae Recto is born in Obando, Bulacan and grew up in Arkong Bato, Valenzuela City. She graduated with a BS Accountancy in Polytechnic University of the Philippines and obtained Sertipiko sa Panitikan at Malikhaing Pagsulat in the same university. She became a Poetry Fellow in Filipino at the UST National Writers Workshop (2022) and Valenzuela Writers’ Workshop (2019). She is an official member of the Valenzuela Arts and Literary Society (VALS) and Linangan sa Imahen, Retorika at Anyo (LIRA). She is also one of the members of the Atsara Collective who launched Quickie: Drive-in Stories (2018). Some of her poems were published in Manila Bulletin, Gantala Press, and Revolt Magazine. She also translated the children’s book Si Kuya Ding sa Imahelandia (Vibal Publishing House, 2021). She loves to read books, take long walks and pet her cats.
