Heidi Salih Emelo-Ato “Cher Heids,” is a dedicated Muslimah theatre artist and educator. As a pioneer graduate of the Guang Ming College BPA Theatre Program, she continued her studies at Nanhua University in Taiwan, where she earned a Master of Fine Arts in Directing.

Heidi is passionate about using theatre as a tool for community empowerment, with a creative focus on directing and community-centered projects.

Aside from her teaching position at GMC, she also holds several administrative roles, including Coordinator for the National Service Training Program and the Alumni Relations Unit, and Program Chair for BPA Theatre.

Amanda Socorro L. Echanis:

Mubarak M. Tahir

Si MUBARAK M. TAHIR ay isang Moro-Maguindanaoan na guro, manunulat, mananaliksik, at editor mula sa Lungsod Heneral Santos. Katuwang na Propesor din siya Departamento ng Filipino, Kolehiyo ng Agham Panlipunan, Mindanao State University-Heneral Santos. Naging fellow ng mga rehiyonal at pambansang palihan sa malikhaing pagsulat. Siya rin ang kauna-unahang Moro-Maguindanaon na nanalo sa Gawad Palanca noong 2017 para sa kaniyang personal na sanaysay na “May Buhay Pa Pala.” Humigit sa 25 mga malikhang akda niya ay nailathala at nailimbag na rin sa iba’t ibang journal at mga antolohiya gaya ng Likhaan Journal, Philippine Graphics, Bangsamoro Literary Review, Agos Journal, at iba pa. Siya rin ay Associate Member ng National Research Council of the Philippines sa ilalim ng Humanities. Noong 2024 ay itinatag niya ang Maratabat Writers Guild Inc., upang bigyang espasyo ang mga bagong usbong na manunulat na mag-aaral ng Mindanao State University-General Santos bilang daan sa pagpapahusay at pagpapaunlad ng panitikan sa rehiyon. Sa kasalukuyan ay kumukuha siya ng programang PhD sa Malikhaing Pagsulat sa Unibersidad ng Pilipinas-Diliman.

Dr. Arjay Viray:

Si Arjay ay guro ng Performing Arts at Music Theater sa Guang Ming College kunsaan naging tagapangulo siya ng BPA-Music Theater, at Punong Guro ng basic education unit – ang Lumbini Institute. Nagtapoa siya ng Bachelor of Secondary Education sa University of the Cordilleras, Master of Music in Music Education and Choral Conducting sa Philippine Women’s University, at Doctor of Education in Curriculum and Teaching mula sa Miriam College. Kasalukuyan siyang kumukuha ng Master of Arts in Counseling sa National Teachers’ College.
Siya ay Katuwang na Kalihim ng Pambansang Komite sa Musika ng Pambansang Komisyon ng Kultura at mga Sining (NCCA). Kinatawan siya ng Pilipinas bilang bahagi ng Editorial Board ng International Choral Magazine.
Naging Kasapi sya para sa Tula at Maikling Kwento sa Ateneo de Davao Writers’ Workshop at Davao Writers’ Workshop noong 2014, at para sa Comedy Writing ng GMA Network Creative Writing Workshop noong 2023.

Dr. Michael L. Tan

Professor Emeritus of Anthropology at the University of the Philippines, Diliman (UPD), an elected academician of the National Academy of Science and Technology, and currently the President of Guang Ming College. After serving as Dean of the College of Social Sciences and Philosophy at UPD, he was appointed Chancellor of UPD from 2014 to 2020. As a Medical Anthropologist, his published single-author books include Thinking, Doing Culture (2011) by UST Press; Revisiting Usog, Pasma, Kulam (2008) by UP Press, and Good Medicine: Pharmaceuticals and the Construction of Power and Knowledge in the Philippines (1999) by University of Amsterdam. His Gray Matters column for the Philippine Daily Inquirer started in 1997 and continues today.
